Four Weeks until the release of "Smart As A Whip"!

New novel coming soon from Blushing Books!

Hello Lovlies! Thank you for checking back for another week of Kimber news and a snippet from my upcoming novel, "Smart As A Whip"!

When I first thought about writing a mystery, I naturally thought of my sleuth as an intelligent woman, but hadn't gotten too far as to who she was. Then, one evening, I was on Facebook and saw a post from Kimberly Cortez, a member of my street team, "Judi's Jewels". The post had a series of pictures all with plus-size redheaded models. The attitude captured in these pics just spoke to me and I knew at once, I had my character. I immediately wrote a post on FB saying as much, just kinda writing off the top of my head what I was thinking this character would be, but that I didn't have a name yet.

In the comments, Kimberly popped up and said that she always thought "Kimberly" was a wonderful name. Is that so, babygirl? Lol. She also mentioned that people would call her "Kimbers" a lot.  I turned the name over in my head and while I thought "Kimbers" might be a little cute for the character, "Kimber" just seemed to stick like glue. I searched a bit through some last names and came up with Cassidy and there you are... pretty much the birth of "Kimber Cassidy"  :)

Kimber Cassidy, is a twenty-something, intelligent, beautiful, plus-size, in-your-face and confident redhead who does not suffer fools easily or at all. A family friend, Manny Escalera is a person of interest in a local murder and as evidence against him mounts, Kimber is put under pressure to right the injustice of an innocent man being framed.  She pulls from her experience and advice she got from her detective father, Douglas Cassidy, who was killed when Kimber was 16, during a drug raid.

The murder of Jim Trace took place outside a local BDSM playspace and as she investigates not only the murder, but also this sexually provocative lifestyle, she has to fight to keep her focus where it should be.

Jeremy Chambers, a longtime member of the club, has his eye on Kimber and starts to pursue her for his own interests.  Will Kimber be able to solve the crime? Will she be able to clear an innocent man's name and keep him from spending his life in jail? Will she succumb to her deep desires and explore this new lifestyle with Jeremy? What if he is the killer himself? All these questions spin around this gripping and sexy novel along with some earth-shaking secrets that concern Kimber herself, secrets which just may unravel her dreams of being an investigator and solving crimes like her father, before they even start.

In this snippet, Kimber first meets Jeremy Chambers  and the group leader, Daniel, at the BDSM playspace and starts to ask questions concerning the murder of club member, Jim Trace.

================

There were a few people in the social area. One was a tall and slender man, Kimber guessed mid-40’s, with a full head of brown hair, parted to the side. The man glanced in her direction.
“I’m sorry, I’ve told all reporters and media to contact me later, I have my email available on our website.”
“Oh, I’m sorry, no. I’m Kimber, Millie’s daughter.”
        “You’re Kimber?”
“Yes, she and my dad Douglas come here…to play.” She finished weakly.
The man smiled and held out his hand. “Well, I’ve heard a lot about you, Kimber. Its good to finally meet you. My name is Daniel, I’m the leader of the group.”
Daniel had been talking to another man, and Kimber let herself linger a bit on him. Both men had just a few inches on her, so she guessed they were both around 6 feet tall, but the second man wore it better. He had broad shoulders and an expansive chest. Even in clothes, he looked muscular, like there was some kind of power, coiled inside him. His stance was even and he had his hands hung down at his sides, a simple confident pose. He would nod at Daniel’s remarks, and when he spoke, his voice was deep and rich. He would gesture to punctuate what he was saying, his long fingers seeming to gracefully caress his words.
“So, you’re Millie’s daughter?” he asked, smiling. He extended his hand. “My name is Jeremy, its a pleasure to meet you.”
Kimber shook his hand. His hand was warm and his long fingers wrapped around her hand, shaking it firmly. She couldn’t keep the blush from rising in her cheeks, which just made her blush even more. “It’s a pleasure to meet you too.” She really didn’t know what else to say. “I’m sorry for what happened.”
Daniel shook his head. “Yeah, its been a shock and a loss in a lot of different ways.”
“A lot of different ways?” Kimber said.
“Well, the loss of a member, of course,” he paused, taking a handkerchief out of his back pocket and wiped his forehead with it, “and the loss of a friend.”
“Was he a close friend of yours?”
“No, we never really saw each other outside of club activities. He could be a pain in the ass, to be honest, but he usually got things going. He was usually the first one to play at the parties and that usually gets the others looking to do their scenes. He was always willing to introduce to people to different types of activities. And he was a switch, so he was versatile in that respect and that helped facilitate people to play.”
        “A scene?”
“Yes, when two or more people engage in BDSM activity, it’s called a scene. Generally, there’s a negotiation up front, so everybody involved knows and can consent to what’s going to happen. Then the scene itself and when its over, there’s aftercare, if needed.”
“And you said he was a switch, do you mean he was bi?”
“No sorry, I guess I was tossing a bit of terminology around,” Daniel said and smiled, “A switch is someone who can be a top or a bottom. They can be the one giving the spanking, paddling, applying the hot wax, whatever the action is and the bottom is the one who receives the action.”
“Thank you,” Kimber felt heat rush to her face. She really didn’t like being out of her element, but she was getting the feeling this was something she was going to have to get used to if she wanted to do this. “How long had Jim been a member?”
“About four years ago, I guess?” Daniel looked to the man who he had been talking to.
“Yeah, that sound about right.” He nodded.
“I just can’t believe they arrested Uncle Manny.”
        “Uncle Manny?”
“He’s been a family friend for years, I just always called him that.”
Daniel nodded. “I was shocked when they took Manny into custody.”
“You don’t think he did it?”
“Well, I guess it was just the surprise of it. I mean, the police had their reasons. But it wouldn’t have occurred to me, no.”
“To be honest, that’s kinda why I’m here. I wanted to look into it and see what I could find out.”
“So, putting your Dad’s skills to work, are you?” Daniel smiled.
“I guess I just couldn’t stand by and do nothing.”
“I can understand that. Is there anymore you’d like to ask me?”
Kimber dug her pen and notebook out of her purse.
“Where were--” Kimber stopped. She was going to ask Daniel where he was at the time of the murder to establish his alibi, but then realized she didn’t even know time of death. God, how the hell am I supposed to do this? She felt like she didn’t know anything and started to panic. Daniel looked at her to complete her sentence and Kimber took a deep breath.
“Who found the body?” She asked.
“Actually, a couple of people. They were going out for a smoke and went to the opposite side of the building that’s not frequented much. They came in, in shock, and found me. I went outside to get a good look and then called 911.”
        “And what time was that?”
“Around 10:30. I couldn’t get over the amount of blood, he was just covered. I tried to feel for a pulse and yelled his name a few times. I didn’t want to disturb anything, but I did shake him a bit. But from I could tell, he was dead.” Daniel shook his head.
“When was Jim last seen alive?”
He paused and thought a bit, folding and refolding his handkerchief, his hands shaking a little. “Um, I guess around 9. We were having a discussion about the club and then I was called away.”
“And so, where were you between nine and ten-thirty?”
“Well, on a playparty night, I’m usually running around with my head cut off,” he said, chuckling, “and of course, last night we were having the celebration, so I was especially busy, making sure that things were going according to plan.”
        “Celebration?”
“Yes, it was the group’s anniversary. Our thirteenth, so it was an important night.”
Kimber made note then asked, “Can anyone verify exactly where you were?”
Daniel shrugged. “Like I said, I’m kinda of a whirlwind, so I’m afraid not. I told the police the same thing last night."
Kimber put his notepad and pen back in her purse. “Is there anyway I can see the crime scene?”
Jeremy spoke up. “Sure, they have it taped off, of course. But there’s no law saying you can’t look.” He smiled again.
Kimber felt the heat intensify and nodded. “Sounds good.”
“Why don’t you show her where it is, Jeremy? I still have some things I need to tend to in here.”
“No problem. Let’s go out the back, Kimber, its easier to get around to the other side.”
        Kimber smiled. “Lead the way.”

Five weeks until the release of "Smart As A Whip"!

New Novel due out in five weeks from Blushing Books!

Hello lovlies! Its so good to have you visit. This week starts the countdown to the release of my second novel. During the promotional appearances I made for my first novel, "Nadja's Choice", I would get asked that if I were to write in any other genre, what would it be?

I would usually answer that I'd love to write a mystery, but of course in my own style. That style being with a modicum of twisted sex and naughtiness! When I finally set down to write a new novel, I decided to go ahead and do just that.

And you all will be able to have it for your very own in five short weeks!

The lead character, Kimber Cassidy, is a twenty-something, intelligent, plus-size, in-your-face and confident redhead who does not suffer fools gladly.

Will she succumb to her deep desires and explore this new lifestyle with Jeremy? What if he is the killer himself? All these questions spin around this gripping and sexy novel along with some earth-shaking secrets that concern Kimber herself, secrets which just may unravel her dreams of being an investigator and solving crimes like her father, before they even start.

In this snippet, we get our first glimpse of Kimber and I know you all will love her just as much I do!

==========

She sat up on the edge of the bed and Watson stirred from his doggie bed on the far side of the bedroom and padded his way toward her. She smiled as he rested his head on her leg. Petting him and giving him a kiss on his head, she thought about when she first saw him. Watson was a rescue dog, an older golden retriever. She saw him one afternoon at the shelter a couple of years ago and Watson was hers ever since. Stretching again, she stood up and made her way into the bathroom.

She looked in the mirror to check herself and nodded her approval. Red hair, long in loose curls. Big blue eyes, a round face, cheeks with dimples. Her ample breasts were a perfect compliment to her wonderfully wide hips. If there were a label, she would be called plus size, but she thought labels were for soup cans, so she just settled for ‘awesome’. Besides the mirror, the bathroom had a sink, a shower, a toilet and a small counter in front of the mirror. What it didn’t have was a scale, not since she threw it away some years back and thought everyone can just shut the fuck up. It also didn’t have her favorite hairbrush. It went missing a couple of weeks ago and she was having to make do with a cheapie brush she had found in her purse. She brushed through her hair, so the ‘just fucked’ look wasn’t quite so obvious. Kimber turned, so she could look back and see her right shoulder blade in the mirror. She paused and looked at her tattoo. A valentine heart, colored black except for her dad’s detective badge number in the center. She got it ten years ago when she had just turned sixteen and her mom had to sign off on it. But she didn’t have a problem with it, her mom understood why.

She didn’t have any plans for the day, so she put on minimal makeup, just some eyeliner and lipstick and got dressed. Today had started out promising enough, which was certainly better than last night had started out, which was a rather disappointing night at the club. But, a quick call to Derrick had solved all that. She walked into the kitchen to fix some coffee and glanced at the calendar. She wondered if last night was club night for her mom. Of course ‘club night’ for mom was different, It wasn’t the type of club that Kimber had gone to. It was the type of social club that catered to different types of interests. Interests that involved paddles, rope and whips. And to be honest, that’s as much as she wanted to know involving all that and her mom.

Three Weeks until the release of "Smart As A Whip"!

New Novel due out in three weeks from Blushing Books!

Hi lovlies! When I first envisioned the character of Kimber, I put in the mid-30's age range, and when I thought of someone similar I imagined a Melissa McCarthy-type. But as I worked out the plot, I realized that the age skewered other things about the story and I didn't like where it was going.

Just then, the song, "Secrets" by Mary Lambert came on over Spotify and I looked down at my phone and saw this...

... and the whole thing just coalesced. I knew Miss Lambert was in her mid-20's, so I checked the other plot elements and realized it would work perfectly. The album cover meant a lot to me. Her look on this album cover spoke loads into this character and was a big inspiration.

And you'll be able to read all about her in three short weeks!

Kimber Cassidy is a twenty-something, intelligent, beautiful, plus-size, in-your-face and confident redhead who does not suffer fools easily or at all.

In this snippet, Jeremy Chambers shows Kimber the taped off crime scene on the side of the building where the BDSM playparties are held...

=============

The back door was by the concessions counter and after exiting the building, they hung a left around the side of the building. As soon as you turned the corner, the crime tape was right there, strung over and barring off more than half of the side of the building. The grass didn’t grow so well on this side, it was mainly dirt and sand. It was easy to see where the corpse was by the large, dark red stain on the ground. Kimber squinted and craned her neck to get a good look at the footprints around the stain. She leaned back and made a face.
“They cordoned off such a wide area, I imagine its kinda hard to get a good look.” Jeremy said.
Kimber nodded, then got an idea. She fished her smartphone out of her purse and put it in camera mode. She then used the zoom magnification to the max setting and then examined the distant ground through the view screen.
“Wow, you’re not just pretty to look at, huh?”
She smirked, “You might be though.”
“Pretty accurate,” he said, smiling, “I’m sure you could’ve found the crime scene by yourself.”
She lingered on the foot prints. “I’m sure you have your uses, Mr. Chambers.”
Most of the footprints around the large stain had blood splatter in the print, but two sets did not. One set looked to be made with a tennis shoe. And the other appeared to be a man’s shoe with a heel. The splatter came to these prints and continued on the other side, but was not in the print itself.
“Can I ask what you’re seeing?”
“I think I’ve found the murderer’s footprints.” She said, pointing to the set.
        “How can you tell?”
“All the other prints have splatter in the print itself, indicating that they were made before or after the murder. But that one set with the heel does not, indicating that the shoes was in the way while the blood was falling.”
“Wow, excellent. I know there had been talk about some heated words between Manny and Jim over a girl. I guess that’s why they zeroed on him when they found he was wearing that type of shoe.”
Kimber thought. They took his shoes and probably tested for blood with luminol outside. The pair must’ve tested positive, so they went ahead and took him into custody, while they ran additional tests on the shoes to determine if it’s a match for the victim. If Manny were innocent, why did his shoes have blood on them? She didn’t know if Manny was a hunter, it could possibly be animal blood.
        “I see wheels turning.”
Kimber turned to look at Jeremy. “Just as long as you don’t smell smoke.”
        “I don’t think that’s a problem with you, hun.”
Kimber took some shots of the prints. Something was bugging her about the heel footprints, they didn’t look right for some reason.
        “So, you’re Millie’s daughter--”
        “That’s me.”
“But you’re not that familiar with the lifestyle.”
        “No, I guess I’m not.”
“Well, I could help out with that, if you’d like.”
Kimber made a face at him. “Oh, really?”
“No no, I meant over dinner,” he said, holding his hands up, “just define some terms or answer some questions BDSM, if you had any.”
        “Over dinner.”
        “Absolutely.”
        “No dessert?”
“Well,” he paused, smiling “I usually play dessert by ear.”
“I bet you do.” She smiled in spite of herself. He took a step closer to her and she could feel his presence near, almost like a heat coming off of him in waves.
“Just something to keep in mind.”
“Oh, I will.” Kimber slipped her phone back in her purse. “Where were you between nine and ten-thirty?”
“There’s no distracting you, is there?” Jeremy said. “I was in the social area.”
“Were you were with anyone, talking to someone?”
He shook his head. “No, I think that was around the time they were serving the cake.”
Kimber got out her pad to make some notes. “Thanks.”
“So, if you need anything else, or want to ask any other questions, I could give you my number.”
        “You could, huh?”
He smiled. “Just for the sake of the investigation.”
“What happened to dinner?” Kimber said, walking back to the back of the building to go back inside.
“Dinner is definitely still on the table.”
Kimber stopped and turned around to face him. “And if dinner’s on the table, where would dessert be?”
Jeremy laughed. “Well, I guess it would depend on how hungry we were. We might just have it on the table as well.”
She stepped closer and looked up at him. “Maybe under the table?”
He whispered in her ear, “For starters.”
“Oh, to start with, huh? You like big desserts?”
Leaning back, he looked her up and down, “I love big desserts, hun.”
She turned to enter to the building and giggling and shaking her head.

Two Weeks until the release of "Smart As A Whip"!

New Novel due out soon from Blushing Books!

Hi lovlies! Time is soon approaching and hopefully I'll be sending out ARCs to a select few and revealing the cover soon.  Also, me and my PA, Lindsey Courtney are planning a smash release takeover event that you will not want to miss!  :)

Kimber Cassidy, is a twenty-something, intelligent, beautiful, plus-size, in-your-face and confident redhead who does not suffer fools easily or at all. In this week's snippet, Kimber and Jeremy go on their first date, which to Kimber, is part fact-finding mission and part curiosity as to why this man intrigues her so much...

===============

It ended up not being a place Kimber was familiar with. It was out of the way, on the severe west end of town. Jeremy opened the door for her to the restaurant and once she was inside, she caught the tone of the place immediately. Dark with candlelight, cloth tablecloths and napkins and full place settings. Once they were seated, she looked around some more, her eyes taking a little bit to get used to the dim light.
Do they keep it dim in here so you can’t see the food or the price you’re paying for it?” Kimber chided.
Actually, they don’t have prices in the menu.”
So, it’s one of those just-assume-it’s-expensive menus.” She picked hers up from the table and started looking.
Exactly.” He said.
Kimber looked over the entrees and settled on one. Just then, their waitress came by with their water and took their order, Kimber’s first.
I’ll have the Prime rib, medium rare, baked potato with everything. Caesar salad, and a glass of Merlot with dinner.”
Jeremy smiled at her order and said, “Give me the same and go ahead and just bring a bottle of Merlot.”
The server nodded, taking note and then left with their menus.
I have to say, I’m a little surprised.” Jeremy said.
How’s that?”
Most women prefer a sweet wine, a Moscato or some light white wine.”
Well I’ll admit, I’ve drunk my share of screw-top fruit-on-the-label wine, but with prime rib, it has to be Merlot.”
Wow, more things in common.”
Is that right? Do they have big desserts here?”
I’m looking at one right now, honey.”
Kimber shook her head, placing her napkin in her lap. “Don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched.”. She looked up to the ceiling and finally heard the music that was playing faintly. “’Night and Day’?”
He cocked his ear and listened. “Yes, I think so. Cole Porter fan?”
Kimber smiled. “Dad used to listen to a lot of old standards. Cole Porter, Sinatra, Nancy Wilson, Billie Holiday.
How about Paul Whiteman?”
That was another favorite. I always liked Dizzy Gillespie and early Miles Davis.”
He nodded. “What else do you listen to?”
To be honest, I listen to just about any genre. Life’s too short to only listen to Top40 anything.”
The waitress came back with their salads, bottle of Merlot and two glasses. She opened the bottle for them and poured their wine.
I think I’ll drink to that,” he said, raising his glass.
Kimber raised hers. She took a small sip of her Merlot and wallowed a bit in the rich warm texture. She nodded in approval and looked at Jeremy. “So, how long exactly have you been with the group?”
I joined a bit after it started. Daniel had been doing small playparties around town and finally decided to create a permanent playspace, so that’s how the group came to be. I joined about six months after they began. Your parents were already there.”
That gave Kimber a jolt. “I guess I hadn’t thought about that.”
Yeah, I knew your father. He was an old hand by the time I came along. Then again, I was only 19,” he said, chuckling, “god, I was green.”
Kinda embarrassing?”
First time at a playparty, I came in with this belt that had hooks and attachments, so I could hang my floggers and hanks of rope from.”
Kimber winced. “You were wearing a utility belt?”
Jeremy laughed. “Yep, really thought I was hot shit too. Your dad gave me a lot of grief about that.”
I can imagine.”
But he was a good guy, very knowledgeable and friendly. You could ask him anything and he’d be happy to show you.”
Kimber rubbed her forehead a bit. It was still difficult to think of her parents this way and tried to think of a way to steer him off the subject.
I guess you met other friends in the group?”
Yeah, I did. About two years in, a guy named Jack joined the group and we became very good friends. But then he moved away, so I’ve been kinda tooling around by myself.”
I’m sorry to hear that, did he move far away?”
He might as well have. Moved to Flaxville.”
Oh wow.”
I know, he might as well have moved to the moon. He keeps trying to get me to visit him down there and I keep trying to get him back up here,” he said, chuckling, “I guess, eventually someone will win the tug of war. Actually, he’s met a woman down there and they seem pretty attached. So, I guess I’ll give in soon. So, besides being an amateur sleuth, what else do you do?”
I work at the paper.”
Are you a reporter?”
Yeah, just puff pieces, human interest type stuff.”
Jeremy narrowed his eyes. “Sounds like something you’d rather not do.”
No, it’s not.”
I think you’d rather be like your dad. He always did brag on you.”
He did?”
Jeremy nodded. “Not that you came up all the time, but when you did, it was usually in reference to something you had figured out. Like the uncomfortable time you figured out what they were doing on their Saturday nights.”
Kimber covered her face. That was a bit of a revelation, she thought, awkward for everyone involved. They all agreed at the time that those activities were on a need to know basis. “Yeah, that was an evening to remember. So, what do you do?”
I’m assistant manager at a hotel here in town.”
Oh cool, that sounds interesting.” Kimber said.
Jeremy laughed. “You’re a horrible liar.”
I promise I’ll work on that.”
Honest?” Jeremy asked, winking. “So, what do you like to do for fun?”
Wow, that could get you some interesting answers.”
I love interesting answers.”
Kimber giggled. “Well, I love music, I love doing cryptograms. I don’t watch a lot of tv. I used to read Tarot cards, I need to get back to that, I kinda miss it.”
That is an interesting answer. You’ll have to give me a reading sometime.”
What do you think I’ll find out?” she asked, winking.
Is there a spanking card in the deck?”
Not that I’ve seen.”
Then I have no idea.” Jeremy said and smiled.
She had to admit she was enjoying this. Most people were cowed by either her attitude or her intelligence. But Jeremy was doing a good job dealing with both. She cleared her throat and got back to the task at hand. “What is Daniel like?”
Daniel?” he said, as he took a bite of salad and thought while he chewed, “He’s organized, friendly--”
Does he have a temper?”
He paused to think. “Not that I know of, but then, the only time I see him is at playparties.”
What kind of play is he into?”
A little impact play, but mainly sensation play, hot wax, knifeplay, that sort of thing.”
Knifeplay?” Kimber asked.
Yeah, no cutting is involved. It’s just tracing the steel edge against skin, again it’s just a type of sensation play.”
I see.”
Actually I thought it was kinda ironic, in a morbid kind of way.” Jim said, as he finished his salad.
What?”
About Jim. He was into decorative cutting and bloodplay as a bottom. Then he ends up being stabbed like that.”
Cutting? Bloodplay?”
Yes, an area of skin is sterilized and then cut with a scalpel. Patterns can be done or a simple picture. It’s a type of body modification, like a tattoo or piercing, if you want to think of it that way.”
Okay.”
Jeremy finished his salad and put his fork down
So, is this why you agreed to go out with me? So you could ask about Daniel?”
Kimber giggled.
First you texted about birthdays, then you asked about him tonight--”
Jealous much?”
I’m just saying.” he said.
Jeremy poured her a second glass as their steaks showed up. Kimber cut into hers and just from the feel of the knife sliding through the meat. she could tell it was going to be good. The steam coming off her baked potato with the sour cream and butter melting down the side and the soft warm rolls, it all looked delicious.
Did they cook your steak the way you wanted it?” Jeremy asked.
Yes,” she said, popping the first bite in her mouth. Her eyes closed a bit as the bite just melted in her mouth and she reached for her glass of wine to sip with her bite. Wine’s not a drink you gulp, her dad would say, it’s a seasoning, like salt and pepper. It all mingled in her mouth in a blissful dance. She nodded and swallowed. “They did a very good job.”
That’s why I like coming here. Good atmosphere, good food and now I’ve got good company.”
Sounds like a trifecta.”
Absolutely.”
So, why did you ask me out?” Kimber asked.
Honestly?”
Yes, the truth is preferable.”
Well,” he said, smiling, “this might sound kinda hokey.”
Kimber exhaled. “That might cost you points.”
I was afraid of that.”
Go ahead, it can’t be that bad.”
Jeremy thought for a bit. “From the moment you walked in the door at the playspace that one day, I just felt a catch.”
A catch? You mean, in your breath?”
In everything, actually. I was really scattered then. We had just had this tragedy happen and a lot of things were up in the air and members were worried and very concerned. And then, you walked in. I just focused on you. To be honest, you were breathtaking, Kimber.”
Kimber took a bite of her potato and thought while she chewed. “I’m trying to think what I was wearing.”
It wasn’t what you were wearing, honey. It was, I don’t know, your manner. You seem very aware, positive and confident.”
So, it’s not just my breasts?” Kimber asked, winking.
Jeremy shook his head and laughed. “No. I mean, you are very attractive. But the sexiest thing a woman can have is confidence.”
Kimber nodded. “Okay, that was just a little bit hokey, but I’ll let it pass.”
Well, just because it’s hokey, doesn’t mean it’s not true.”
She smirked. “So, I imagine you’re a ’Top’?”
Yes, I am.”
Why type of play are you into?”
Impact play mostly.”
So, spanking, flogging, paddling…”
Also caning, I’m currently loving this new tawse I’ve gotten.”
Tawse?”
It’s kinda hard to explain. It’s a leather strap, but it’s been split in two.”
Kimber nodded, trying to visualize it in her head and biting her lip.
I’ll show you sometime.” He said, winking.
Oh, you think so?”
He laughed again. “I know you’re at least a little bit curious.”
Oh yeah, how do you know that?”
You’ve been squirming in your seat since we’ve started talking about it.”
Kimber checked herself and made a face, then tried to shrug it off. “Maybe my panties are just riding up.”
He leaned forward and whispered, “Or maybe they’re just wet.”
It was her turn to lean forward and whisper. “Or maybe I’m not wearing any.”
That’s what I kinda figured in the first place.”
She giggled and leaned back, aware that she was squirming again. She made an effort to stop. Dammit, she thought.
Their server walked up to their table to get their plates.
Have you two left any room for dessert?” she asked.
Kimber licked her lips and shot a glance to Jeremy.
I think I’d just like our check please.” he said.
As the server walked away, Kimber slipped her foot out of her shoe and slid it alongside one of his legs, til it was nestled snugly in his crotch.
I do love these floor length tablecloths,” she said, smiling.
Jeremy pressed his lips together and nodded.
They do come in handy,” he said, finally.
She could easily feel his excitement bulging against his slacks and from the feel of it pressing against the length of her foot, she could tell already, this was going to be a very good evening.
Jeremy cleared his throat and leaned forward again.
Unless you want this evening to end ‘prematurely’,” he said, winking. “I suggest you put your foot back in your shoe, so we can get out of here.”
Kimber giggled. “Oooookaayyy.” she said, giving one last press on his cock, before slipping her foot back in her shoe.

Book Spotlight : Past Interference by Kathryn R. Blake

Love isn't always gentle and kind

When Jerry Douglas asks Elly Benson to marry him, he wants their ceremony to be as close to Valentine's Day as possible. Though Elly tearfully accepts Jerry's proposal without hesitation, as she readies herself for her second wedding, the doubts and misgivings of any new bride-to-be are exacerbated by the abuse she suffered during her first marriage. When Elly recalls how quickly her uncertain stomach jitters grew into tight knots of pain on her wedding day, she also remembers how and why she'd fallen in love with and married Arthur, her first husband. A mistake she regrets more and more with each passing hour.

Though she's lived with Jerry for four months now, and been subject to his discipline more than once, her first husband had been kind and careful with her, too, in the beginning. At least until she vowed to love, honor and obey him. And their move to Corbin's Bend turned him from the strict, but caring husband she thought she'd married into a monster she no longer recognized.

Excerpt:

After placing a kiss on Elly's head, Jerry handed her a small glass angel ornament. "Here." The crystal wings and bell skirt were so fine and delicate she hesitated to take the figure from his fingers.
"Go on. She's a lot sturdier than she looks. Just grasp the hanging string. I want you to place her on the tree."
"Me? Why?" Elly asked, blinking up at him in wonder. These were the Douglas's traditions, and as welcoming as Jerry's family had been, she was still an outsider.
"Because I want to start a new tradition — tonight. Please?"
Elly carefully pinched the slender golden cord between her thumb and index finger and set the sparkling three-inch figurine on her palm before she glanced at Jerry in surprise. "Did you make this?"
Smiling, he shook his head while his mother, father, two brothers and single sister all took seats on the couches positioned near the tree. Elly held the last ornament to be placed.
"He did have it specially made, however," his mother announced with a grin.
"Mother...," Jerry warned.
Elly examined the fragile angel more closely. "You did?"
"Yes, I did. Look at her eyes."
They were two tiny green stones that matched the color of Elly's irises. She smiled at him, when a sudden sparkle from the angel's halo caught her eye. A garland of diamond-like crystals crowned the celestial being's long crystal locks.
"She's got a halo of shiny stars set in a silver circle," Elly said in wonder, staring at the delicate winged figure.
"The eyes are emeralds, the circle is platinum, the bar set stones are real diamonds, but you're right about the halo, because you are my very own angel." Grasping her free hand in his, Jerry dropped down to one knee. "Eleanor Ann Franklin Benson, would you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"
The room grew snowfall silent as Elly's tear-filled eyes gazed down at the man she adored.
"You're asking me to marry you?" Her words emerged as a mere squeak of a sound.
"I told you I would do things right when I proposed. Yes, my heart, I want to spend the rest of my life with you at my side and under my wing. I want to love, hold, cherish and protect you for as long as we both shall live. Will you say yes? Please?"
Elly's mouth opened and closed, but no sound came out. Then she gazed at his smiling family gathered to witness their baby lay his heart out on a line. The man, whom she loved most in the world, knelt before her and his closest relatives to claim he wanted her. Her. Overcome with emotion, Elly could only nod her head.
His smile broad, Jerry rose to his feet, cupped her face in his hands and kissed her beneath the sprig of mistletoe his eldest brother held above their heads.

Bio :

Lessons in Love is Kathryn R. Blake's sixth novel with Blushing Books, and fifth spanking romance where Domestic Discipline is primary to the plot. Although Kathryn is relatively new to the spanking romance market, she is not new to stories where the hero spanks the heroine. In fact, most of her novels have some sort of spanking in them. However, even in Kathryn's novels where the hero firmly believes in using spanking as a deterrent, he has no desire to cause the heroine injury and takes no delight in hurting the woman of his heart. In fact, sometimes he finds it extremely difficult to follow through on his threats or promises.
To date, all of her heroes are dominant, alpha males who are extremely protective of the women they love. However, part of that protectiveness includes the need for a certain amount of control. They do not suffer defiance or disobedience lightly. Even so, these men aren't infallible, and they do make mistakes, but love and respect will always triumph in the end.
Kathryn has been a member of RWA since the early 1980s and has joined several local and special interest chapters. Besides writing, Kathryn enjoys traveling, reading, attending the theatre, and is a passionate lover of animals, so much so that in 2015 a stray cat adopted her. The stray now sleeps in Kathryn's bed. She has also recently taken up the expensive hobby of making and selling jewelry.
Her personal website, www.kathrynrblake.com, is filled with photos and links to information about her many interests as well as peppered with quizzes, contests, games and lots of other fun things to do and she loves to hear from her readers, so she has an e-mail link at the bottom of every page.

Book Spotlight : Wren's Redemption by Katherine Deane

Wren's Redemption by Katherine Deane

The Bad Girl of Gymnastics meets her new coach.

Nineteen-year-old gymnast Wren Montgomery was America’s golden girl, but then it all came crashing down. As far as the media is concerned, it was a devastating ankle injury which began her downward spiral, but in her heart Wren knows better. The truth is that things started going wrong the day her beloved coach Jonathan Reilly not only rejected her romantic advances, but actually spanked her bare bottom as if she were a silly little girl when she tried to hide her heartbreak behind an angry outburst.

Now at twenty-two, after one poor decision after another Wren has become the “bad girl” of the gymnastics world. Desperate to break out of her slump and with nowhere else to turn, she decides to accept help from the best coach she ever had… the same man who spurned and then spanked her years ago.

Jonathan watched Wren’s fall from grace, and he fell with her. He still blames himself for leaving the team—and more importantly, leaving her—and now that he has the chance to help his little rebel get back on track, he isn’t going to let it slip through his fingers. This time he’ll be there for her no matter what, both when she needs a loving embrace and when she needs a firm hand applied to her bare bottom. Most important of all, if she still wants him to be more than just her coach, this time he won’t let anything keep him from claiming what is his.

Publisher’s Note: Wren’s Redemption is an erotic romance novel that includes spankings, sexual scenes, elements of BDSM, and more. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Jonathan couldn’t stop the shit eating grin as he plunked down on top of Paul’s desk. Yes, that little spanking had fueled a lot of memories and fantasy fodder, over the past three years. Her creamy flesh jiggling up and down, as he imprinted her with his red splotchy handprint. Granted, that had been extremely inappropriate. So had the thoughts he had had toward the then nineteen year old athlete. It was a smart move for him to take a break from the team. But if he had stayed, Wren wouldn’t be in the position she was in now. Falling from grace must have hurt her pretty bad. And it looked like she was still very angry. Her lips pursed, her blue eyes blazed, and if her arms squeezed any tighter around her chest, she would asphyxiate herself.

“Did you hear me, jackass?” she spat.

“I heard you loud and clear, sweetheart. And it sounds like you are itching to go back over my knee again, right now.” He took pleasure in her soft little gasp as her eyes widened and her cheeks blushed. He had always been able to fluster her, and he loved how easily she showed her emotions. She hadn’t changed a bit. Well, except for filling out a little more up top, and the hardened look in her eyes. He would fix that.

He leaned into her personal space, and listened as she took in a quick nervous breath. Grasping a tendril of her long hair, he twirled it around his finger a few times. “I like the purple. What’d your folks say?”

She caught her bearings, and yanked away from him. “What do you think?”

He was sure good old conservative Mr. and Mrs. Montgomery had had fits. He wondered how much of her lashing out was for the media, and how much was directed at her parents. “Well, it suits you and your personality.”

She rolled her eyes and snorted, sitting back against the chair stiffly. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

He knelt down to get at her eye level and grasped her chin, “It means you haven’t given up yet. You’re stronger than they gave you credit for. And you are going to prove it to them when you make the national team in four months.”

Her eyes softened and he finally received a glimpse of the former Wren Montgomery, the sweetheart with the heart of gold. She sniffled. “Who’s them?”

“The whole world, sweetie. Including you.” He let go of her chin and sat back on the desk, folding his arms and piercing her with a firm gaze. “But first, we need to get you through your last bit of PT, and you’re going to need a coach.”

“Are you going to act like this the whole time we are together?” Her brow furrowed and the pink flush spread to her ears.

“You’re asking if I’ll spank your bare bottom again.”

Her small squeak of embarrassment assured him he had all of her attention, even though she wouldn’t meet his gaze. It had worked three years ago. Why not?

“Yes, my little rebel, I’m going to work your ass harder than you have ever trained before. And when you give up, or don’t give your all, or give me too much attitude, I will punish you. And I promise you, when we are done, you will be the best “bad girl”, gymnastics has ever seen.” He stood up and held out his hand. “So what do you say?”

Her grip was stronger than he had anticipated, and Jonathan schooled his features not to wince, as she flashed her brilliant white teeth at him. “When do we start, Coach?”

She loves cheese, red wine, chocolate, and snuggling up with her daughters’ kittens while reading a good book.

When not reading, or writing, you can find her knitting, sewing, crafting, or doing pretty much anything to keep her hands busy. She has taken over the dining room AKA craft room, much to her husband’s dismay. In one of her books, an energetic “craftaholic” would find herself over her husband’s knee for losing an important document in a pile of bi-cone crystals and mod podge. Her real life, and the people in them, give her plenty of ideas to work with.

Katherine has dubbed herself the queen of cheese. Not only is she a former Midwestern Cheese Head; she also loves to incorporate it into her books.
